MOSCOW – Anak bongsu dari ketiga-tiga suspek dalam serangan keganasan pada hari Rabu di pejabat majalah Charlie Hebdo di Paris, Hamyd Mourad, 18 tahun menyerahkan diri kepada polis yang mendakwa dia tidak bersalah, kata Saluran TV iTele Perancis pada hari Khamis.

“Anak bongsu yang dikehendaki menyerah kepada polis yang mengaku tidak bersalah. Alibinya akan disahkan oleh penyiasat, ”kata iTele di Twitter.

Menurut iTele, Hamid Mourad mengatakan bahawa pada waktu serangan itu dia berada di lycée di Charleville-Mezieres. Dilaporkan sebelumnya bahawa Mourad adalah seorang pelajar.

Sebelumnya pada hari Khamis AFP melaporkan mengutip sumber yang dekat dengan penyelidikan bahawa Hamyd Mourad yang berusia 18 tahun menyerah kepada polis pada pukul 22:00 GMT Rabu “setelah melihat namanya beredar di media sosial” dan ditahan. Agensi berita itu mengatakan bahawa beberapa orang lain yang dikaitkan dengan disyaki penyerang juga ditahan.

MOSCOW — The youngest of the three suspects in the Wednesday terror attack at Charlie Hebdo magazine office in Paris, 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad turned himself in to police claiming he is innocent, French iTele TV Channel said Thursday.

“The youngest of those wanted surrendered to police pleading not guilty. His alibi will be verified by investigators,” iTele said on Twitter.

According to iTele, Hamid Mourad said that at the time of the attack he was in lycée in Charleville-Mezieres. It was reported earlier that Mourad is a student.

Earlier on Thursday AFP reported citing source close to the investigation that 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad surrendered to police at 22:00 GMT Wednesday “after seeing his name circulating on social media” and was placed in custody. The news agency said that several other people linked to suspected attackers were also detained.
