The role of father in Quran
=========
1. of this father’s day, let us contemplate the role of a father as recorded in the Qur ‘ an. The dialogue between father and child is among the important episodes featured by the Quran. It describes the priority of Father’s role in the construction of a family institution.
2. of the basic roles mentioned are the berhubungkait about the education of tauhid in the household. This can be understood through the first order that luqman has delivered to his son:
When Luqman said to his son while he preaches to him, O my son, do not associate with Allah. Indeed, disobedience is a great injustice
” and when luqman said to his son, while he gave advice to him :” o my beloved child, do not associate with Allah (with anything else), indeed, the deeds of Shirk are a great tyranny “.
This is the most important recommendation that God has mentioned through the advice of luqman al-Hakim to his son.
3. on the basis of al-Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim has also explained that as early as the birth of the child we have been encouraged to whisper their azan azan. The chant of tauhid that breaks into their ears describes how much the value of the aqidah has to be applied since the child was born into the world again. (Ibn Al-Qayyim, Tuhfah Al-Maudud)
4. Second, a father needs to make sure that the child stays in the truth of this religion. Watch out how prophet ibrahim advised his children to stay strong in the religion of Islam and die in this religion. The Word of God:
Abraham recommended her son and Jacob, indeed Allah has chosen religion for you, so do not die except when you are Muslims
And Prophet Ibrahim was made with the religion to his children, and the prophet yaakub (made to his children) he said: ” my children! Indeed, Allah has chosen this religion to be followed by you, so do not die unless you are in Islam “. (Al-Baqarah: 132)
5. Watch out how Prophet Ibrahim and prophet yaa ‘ Jacob told his son to remain and continue to be intact in this religion. A Father should educate his children to defend Islam as the friends of the prophet have done. 6. Third, a father is also compulsory to order his son to establish prayer. This can be learned through the word of God that mentioned:
Order your family to pray and be patient
” and command (O Muhammad) members of your family to perform prayer, and be patient on it (for this matter). Surah Taha: 132.
6.1 according to al-Imam Al-Qurtubi, after this verse, the prophet will drop by every morning at his son saidatina fatimah and saidina Ali’s house, calling them to perform prayers. Look at how the child has built a household and has a husband, the prophet still reminds his child to perform prayers. (Al-Qurtubi, Al-Jami Li Ahkam Al-Quran, Al-s, 1964, 11/263).
7. Even, the fourth, a father is advised to always pray that Allah will make all his prayers establish prayers. Watch out how prophet ibrahim himself prays to be blessed with a child who is always praying. The Word of God:
Lord, make me the resident of prayer and of my offspring, our Lord, and accept my prayer
” (Prophet Ibrahim prayed): O my Lord, make me the one who establish prayer and also with my offspring. Our Lord, please pray for this prayer.” (Surah Ibrahim: 40)
8. Remember the message of al-Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim that the role of a father is very heavy. A careless father can affect the damage of his children. Says Al-Imam:
So what spoiled children like neglecting parents
“nothing is more damaging to children, than negligence and neglect from their parents” (tuhfatul maudud)
